For Whom the Water Flows

Having A New Kitchen Faucet Installed

The faucet in your kitchen plays a much more important role than you may realize. If you have a high-quality and great-looking faucet installed in your sink, then it really can transform the look of that part of the kitchen. Also, it can offer you more than a nice-looking sink area, depending on its features. Learn more about why you might want or need to replace your kitchen faucet, and why you should choose wisely when picking the new one here:

Reasons for having a new kitchen faucet installed

Your faucet is cheap - If you have a cheap faucet in your kitchen sink right now, then it likely looks cheap, and it won't last long. You should get rid of the faucet now and take the opportunity to have a much better one installed. Not only is this good for aesthetic reasons, but it also helps you avoid those repairs that aren't too far away with a lower-quality faucet.

The faucet leaks - The first time your kitchen faucet starts to leak, it may be an easy fix. However, if it leaks again, then it may be time to think about replacing it.

There are calcium deposits - If you have calcium deposits in and/or on the faucet, then you should have a new one installed. These deposits look like toothpaste, but they are rough and on there good when you feel them. Once the deposits are there, they will start ruining the different parts of the faucet, so it won't last much longer.

The faucet is rusty - If there is rust inside the faucet, then the corrosion will soon prevent it from working altogether. You can usually tell if the faucet has rust and corrosion inside because the handle will stick or sound like it's going to crack when you go to turn it on.

Choosing the right kitchen faucet

Quality - When you are looking for a new faucet to have installed, you should go for quality. You will end up paying a bit more upfront. However, in the long run, it will save you money, and you can get features that are convenient.

Functionality - Look for a faucet with a design that's going to fit your sink well. You may want a sprayer with a light on the end so you can rinse off a dish at night without turning on the big kitchen light. You can get a faucet where the end of it is the sprayer, or you can get one with a separate sprayer that's off to the side. Choose a faucet with hot and cold handles you like as well. When the right faucet is installed, you will be pleased with your decision.
