For Whom the Water Flows

How You Know You Need An Emergency HVAC Consultation

Many of us expect a comfortable indoor space in the winter and summer months, thanks to the availability of HVAC services. When HVAC services break down, it can lead to crabby family members in residential buildings and a negative customer experience/fewer sales in a commercial building. Prevent problems before they happen with an emergency HVAC assessment. Learn how you can tell you need an emergency HVAC consultation.

1. Weird Sounds Coming From Your HVAC System

Your HVAC system probably makes a certain amount of noise, which is normal. However, your HVAC system shouldn't suddenly get louder seemingly overnight. If you notice clinking noises, it may indicate problems inside your unit, such as a broken component. If you don't fix the problem, it can get worse and create additional damage inside your unit.

2. Insufficient Heating And Cooling

Do you notice your unit producing hot or cool air but not providing the results you expect? Low flow coming from your unit can indicate a blockage. If cleaning the filter doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to find out if the clog is somewhere else. Things to consider include whether a particular room is affected more than others and what type of system you use.

3. Signs of Poor Air Quality

Interior spaces contain air in a confined area, as opposed to air outside which can flow anywhere. The air becomes contaminated by chemicals, smoke, and other toxins inside your home. When toxins contaminate the air to a certain level, it becomes dangerous for people to breathe. Poor air quality can make loved ones or employees sick, even potentially leading to a lawsuit. Working with a lot of chemicals or smoking inside will increase the possibility you have poor air quality.

4. New Building Code Requirements

Building codes years ago weren't nearly as stringent as they are today. Thanks to code upgrades, we produce less pollution when we run HVAC systems, even though there are more HVAC systems to monitor. New codes will come. While the codes are for the good of everyone, they may make your unit obsolete. Get an emergency HVAC consultation when you hear about upgrades to the local building codes to ensure you remain in compliance (and don't get a fine).

An emergency HVAC assessment may sound intimidating. However, the results will ensure your HVAC system adheres to all local ordinances and works properly. If you do need to make an upgrade, get an energy-efficient system that will save you money in the long run.
